Announcements: Due Oct. 1
Choose a 3 paragraph non-fiction selection. Highlight, keyword outline, and write a summary. Hint: Your summary should be 3 paragraphs long!!
Make sure to include the 3 elements of style–who/which, -ly, because. Underline these as well.
Begin working on your RRJ again. At least one entry and a few vocab. words!
**For those of you who are gone Thurs., you also need to finish the Dolphin article which you keyword outlined in class. Summarize and use elements of style (3) …basically repeat what you are doing for your homework assignment.

Reading Response Journal–This is DUE Thursday. Remember to check the grading chart for both entries and vocabulary. Try to use questioning, predicting, connecting, analyzing, etc.
Bibliography–A typed bibliography of the sources you plan to use for your oral report. Check the handout for appropriate punctuation!! Don’t forget commas, periods, colons…
*To get ahead: Continue ongoing assignments, begin Ch. 13-18, start your outline for the oral report.

Grammar–Preposition worksheet. Please refer to the previous assignment (which is marked with corrections) to see what you need to work on!
Summary of a Story–Complete both fables from in-class work time. Choose one to finalize (type and add dress ups). If you want to do both, the second will be extra credit! Remember to underline the -ly word and who/which clause in each paragraph!!
Keep reading so you are ready to make an RRJ entry. Use post its while I have your journal.
